MosaicGlobe started as an idea in late 2004 by Danny and Jim, because we were frustrated with all the content management systems that we had tried. So we figured we could build one that made more sense and was much more flexible.

Originally, it was set out to write this in PHP. Then in October of 2004, Ruby on Rails was released. That resulted in a complete scrap of the old code and a rewrite into Ruby on Rails.

Sometime in February 2005, we brought in Larry to help with development and systems stuff as a contractor. In April of 2005, we extended and Larry accepted the offer to become a full time employee/owner.
