Upcoming lightbox feature

I just posted a screenshot of the upcoming lightbox feature, here. The lightbox will be activiated upon clicking an image in the gallery if you have it configured, otherwise you'll see the same view as before.

Would this work in the same way as a "pop-up"? And then it would use the same window to view the proceeding images?

We are still working on this. But it's a window with the HTML page not a popup outside the current browser. There are some examples of how others are doing it here and here. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
